Working Group #2 (RU#2): Bayesian Seismic Hazard
- Goals: Bayesian Seismic Hazard assessment for the city of Naples
- Responsible: Licia Faenza (INGV)
- Participants: Sebastian Hainzl, Warner Marzocchi, Alberto Michelini, Simona Pierdominici, Laura Sandri
TASKS
- Local map of seismic hazard (and its uncertainties)
- Atlas of shakemaps of the past earthquakes (historical and instrumental)
occurred in the area near Naples
ACTIVITY
This working group will provide the seismic hazard map for the area of Naples.
In particular, we will adopt a new Bayesian approach to include the source- and the site-approach in the hazard calculation.
Our main interests are: i) the analysis of all potential sources able to generate damage in the city of Naples, including the shallow and offshore sources, as input for the seismic tsunami hazard; ii) the inclusion of several spatio-temporal earthquake models, to widely cover the earthquake variability, with particular attention to the earthquake occurrence in volcanic areas.
